Catalytic Activated Carbon

Catalytic Activated Carbon

Core Carbons Private Limited manufactures a variety of coconut shell-based, Catalytic Activated Carbon, in standard and custom sizes, for water application. Catalytic Activated carbon is used to remove chloramines and hydrogen sulphide from drinking water. It has the ability to promote chemical reactions with all the adsorptive characteristics of regular Activated carbons.

Core Carbon produces Catalytic Activated Carbon grades such as 4x8 Coarser to 100x325 finer products.

Base carbon (Finished Product) is impregnated with Ammonia to dope the corners of the surface layer of the carbon with N. This Impregnated carbon is subject to thermal treatment (@900 Deg C) in inert atmosphere in a Rotary Retort. Subsequent Nitrogen blanketing is provided in the retort to ensure that no free O disturbs the N doping in the carbon. Once the reaction is completed the carbon is cooled in a rotary cooler in inert atmosphere.

For Catalytic Activated Carbon, Core Carbon Comprises

  • Rotary Retorts
